History
The Oklahoma City Fire
Department was once a small volunteer fire company with one
donated, hand-drawn wagon housed in a small-framed building.
When formed it was the Department’s duty to protect less than
10,000 residents. Today, the responsibility has grown to include
over 506,132 residents. The Department has grown to
approximately 1,000 career personnel operating around the clock.
Our Department has 35 strategically located fire stations that
respond to over 52,000 emergencies per year.Off-season
weight stays around 185-190. I have topped out as heavy as 210.

MY FIREFIGHTING ACTIVITIES
Being a Firefighter/Paramedic
is very rewarding for me. Everyday is a new experience. Each
shift, I work on a team with some of the smartest, most nobel
people on the planet.
Our motto is "Respond
quickly, safely, courteously. Meet the need." Meeting the need
not only includes fire and advanced medical response, but I am
honored to serve as a Hazardous Materials Technician and on our
Dive Rescue & Recovery Team.
The work we do is very
physically demanding. My bodybuilding has helped me in this
aspect by preparing me physically and mentally for the
challenges I may face while on duty. I feel so strongly about
being fit and having fit firefighters on the job that I actively
serve on our department's Wellness Committee. The Committee's
main goal is to keep our firefighters healthy, through knowledge
and training, well into retirement years.
I feel so blessed to have
the opportunity to serve my community everyday I go to work and
that I have so much fun doing it!!!!!
